> Sunday Night at Green House <

The Green House is sponsoring a "How to Win as a Green" workshop
for aspiring Green Party candidates for public office at 6:30pm on
Sunday, July 27 in Suite 210, 22757 Woodward (at 9 Mile Road) in
Ferndale. The event will feature Green Party of Michigan (GPMI)
member Melissa Hohauser-Thatcher and her campaign team. Hohauser-
Thatcher and Green House slate partner Beth D'Anna were decisively
elected last month to the Ferndale Public Schools Board of Education.

After the workshop, Hohauser-Thatcher and Green House founder Tom
Ness will hold a "Welcome To The Green Party!" Party for Craig Covey,
founder of the Michigan AIDS Prevention Project, and a member of the
Ferndale City Council (who is up for re-election in November) who is
sponsoring a Council resolution on election reforms which is scheduled
for consideration on Monday, June 28.

(who is not a GPMI member) ran on a ticket supported by
the Green House, an independent Ferndale institution
promoting Green causes and campaigns. Both women were
elected in a high-turnout race June 9 to four-year terms
          on the Board.

CRAIG COVEY, an already-elected member of the Ferndale City
Council who is running for re-election this fall -- and
          who has recently joined GPMI.

The Green Party of Michigan was formed in 1987 to address environmental
issues in Michigan politics. There are Greens organized in all 50 states
and the District of Columbia. Each state Green Party sets its own goals
and creates its own structure, but US Greens agree on Ten Key Values:

        Ecological Wisdom * Grassroots Democracy
        Social Justice * Nonviolence
        Community Economics * Decentralization
        Feminism * Respect for Diversity
