State Membership Meeting -- January 19, 2008

The Winter 2008 state membership meeting will be held on January 19 (Saturday) at the Central United Methodist Church, 23 East Adams (4th floor), Detroit, Michigan, 48226.

Proposed Agenda:

Saturday, January 19

8:30 am - Begin Registration - rolls and coffee provided by Detroit Greens
9:00 am - Welcome and approval of agenda, selection of facilitators, timekeepers, stackkeepers
9:15 am - Officer and Committee Reports
10:00 am - Election of officers – selection of election committee and votes on contested offices

11:00 am - Discussion of problems in Michigan and solutions: jailing of Rev Pinkney, utility cutoffs, foreclosures, right to work initiative, healthcare initiative, others - possible resolutions

12:00 Lunch Break - Detroit Greens can coordinate purchased lunches – lots of good restaurants nearby and a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and sink is available

1:00 pm - Committee work – discussion and resolutions for SMM:

    - Media - includes Green Light, leaflets, website
    - Fundraising – includes membership, fundraising and fundraising for presidential candidates
    - Candidates and Races – includes recruitment of candidates and targeted races

3:30 pm - Break

3:45 pm - Committee Reports and Resolutions
4:45 pm - Concluding Remarks and Announcements
