Food at the Meeting: Breakfast & Lunch
Meal fee/s: Light breakfast food will be available for $2.
Please bring your own brown bag lunch, or you can order
pizza with us. Or...
More Interesting Lunch Food Options: Salvadoran or Chinese
For $10 (includes tax & delivery tip), if you order it in
advance, you can get one of the following four meals. There
will be a veggie and a meat option of each cuisine.
Chinese:
Submit your Chinese choice to Pete at elections@migreens.org
by Wednesday May 14th.
People can vote for one or two items - but one of each, if more
than one choice is made. That way there is a guaranteed veggie
item and a guaranteed meat item, so no one is put out. We will
order the ones that get the most votes in each category.
Do not vote for items you do not expect to order.
The vegetarian options: (vote for just one)
- Vegetarian Malaysian Lo Mein =
Lo Mein noodles (pasta) in a hearty sauce with spring
onions, tofu, and egg.
- Hunan Soy Bean Skin Roll =
Crunchy, savory soy with vegetables in a mildly spicy sauce.
Non-vegetarian options: (vote for just one)
- Mongolian Beef (spicy)
- Chicken with Garlic Sauce (or Black Bean sauce, or Barbecue Sauce)
To vote for a Chinese option, contact Pete directly at elections@migreens.org
by Wednesday May 14th.
Salvadoran:
Submit your choice ("veggie" or "meat" or "either") to recordkeeper@migreens.org
by Tuesday May 13th.
Pilar's Catering is a local small business run by a woman from
El Salvador and her husband. They cook traditional Salvadoran
foods using organic vegetables whenever possible and organic,
free-range chicken and beef when meat is used. We have pared
down their menu to something we can manage at the SMM. Sign up
in advance to partake of this delicious cuisine by emailing
Adrianna at recordkeeper@migreens.org. Please specify if you will
want vegetarian, chicken, or if either one is fine. (Because of
our budget limitations, we have chosen not to order beef
items.)
We will order a quantity of food which will include the items
below. Mix and match any two entree items (for example, one
pastela and one puspusa or two of the same thing) plus curtido,
rice, beans, and a freshly made Salvadoran corn tortilla.
Item descriptions:
Simple Rice -- White or Brown. Organic Basmati Rice cooked with
onion, green pepper, garlic, and tomato. One pot of white/one
pot of brown.
Beans -- organic black beans with onions, garlic, mild chiles,
and spices.
Pupusas =
Salvadoran Meal on the Run. A favorite dish of Salvadorans! A
handmade corn tortilla filled with our special delicious blends
of three cheeses (feta, mozzarella, and cream cheese), and
refried black organic beans. Grilled and served piping hot.
Served with aged Curtido.
Chicken Pasteles =
Similar to Enchiladas, but the tortilla is rolled around the
vegetables and chicken, like a turnover. It is then pan-fried
to a crispy golden color. Served with aged Curtido.
Vegetarian Pasteles =
Similar to Enchiladas, but the tortilla is rolled around the
vegetables, like a turnover. It is then pan-fried to a crispy
golden color. Served with aged Curtido.
(Note: We are hoping to get about one to two dozen people
signed up. If we get less, we may have to modify the menu
somewhat.)
(A Green suggestion: bring your own plate, cloth napkin
and cup!)

DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS:
Friday, May 2, 2003 via email or postal mail (no email
attachments will be accepted; please send your
proposal/s in the body of an email) This will allow the
Meeting Manager time to compile all proposals and mail
them to registered meeting participants at least one
week prior to the meeting.
Proposals submitted after that time will be considered
for discussion on the floor of the meeting, and
proposers are responsible for bringing sufficient
copies of their submission. Please note that there is
absolutely no guarantee that proposals submitted after
the deadline will find time on the agenda.
Proposals submitted PRIOR to the deadline will be
accepted on first-received, first included basis as
follows: 1st emailed submission followed by first
postal submission, etc., until in the Meeting Manager's
estimation all available business discussion time has
been allocated. The Meeting Manager will then post a
tentative business agenda listing the proposed agenda
items for discussion along with any items that did not
seem to fit, and will follow the will of the membership
as much as possible in creating the final agenda.
