Join the Green Party in Grand Rapids In November
The Green Party of Kent County is privileged to host the GPMI's next State Quarterly Meeting, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, November 10th and 11th, in Grand Rapids. Please make plans to join us for this assembly.
In addition to the party business sessions on Saturday, a full schedule of excellent events and opportunities is planned. Workshops and presentations run concurrently on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. We are pleased to announce that the Mayor's Justice 2000 Task Force will be sending a representative to conduct a seminar on their "Radiant Justice" report, which recommends Green policies for Grand Rapids city government. Also on Saturday afternoon there will be a workshop on effective strategies for Green locals, hosted by area Greens with co-presenters from around the state. On Sunday afternoon we are very pleased to bring you a co-sponsored panel discussion on third-party cooperation in Michigan; running concurrently to this will be a workshop on campus organizing with presenters from the Progressive Student Alliance at Grand Valley State University. A full-group brainstorming session is scheduled for Sunday morning, followed by small-group sessions. We are soliciting topics for both periods. Lunch will be provided both days for a nominal additional fee; there are also musical performances scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday. In addition, time has been made on Sunday afternoon for area Greens and spokespersons to mingle with local print and television journalists. If you can make it to our State Quarterly Meeting for even a little while this November, we would be honored to see you, whether you're a GPMI member or not. On behalf of the Green Party of Kent County, we want to extend a warm welcome to all Greens statewide, and express our solidarity with the wider movement of Michigan's progressives whom we strive to represent at the polls.
