Announcing Formation Of The Michigan Green Commerce AssociationBy Eric BorregardThe Green Party needs strong alliances of small businesses to build and network it's economic interests in alternative energy, mass transit, and natural foods just to name a few. Just putting forth the candidates who will fight for the small, local and green businesses is not enough. We need an organization that will allow businesses to promote and network on a continuing basis; putting forth a calendar of events and promotional functions that will allow both candidates and business people to succeed. The Green Commerce Association creates just that forum. Many local Chambers of Commerce today charge upwards of three hundred dollars for an annual membership to provide such a service, making it prohibitive for small businesses to network like the big boys. The Michigan Green Commerce Association represents a real opportunity to cut deeply into the Republican business base while defining ourselves as the premiere economic force in America and the world, all at a fraction of the cost of the traditional Chamber of Commerce. Green Businesses are expected to expand in the 21st century while businesses linked to 19th century fossil fuel technologies will sputter on and eventually go extinct. Now is the time to get in on the ground floor of the next economic revolution. In the future all economic and political issues will be green.
